i read the rool book and since this is not a relocation into the drivers compartment im not sure if the battery needs too be in a battery box or not?now as far as safety goes its a no brainer too add a box anyway.if i use a box does that need too bolted in or just strapped down with a metal braket as well as does the battery need to be fastned down as well within the box.not sure how sticky tech is but i don't need a hassle.

Last time I went through tec they hit me with this one. If the original location is used and the battery is strapped down with the back seat in place it is fine. I have a battery box with no back seat however the box is not sealed or vented.
I ordered this one. Full NHRA approved so no worries on tec.

I find tec a learning experience everytime I go through I find out something new I gotta do,,,,oh well soon I'll have everything in place and good to go

thanks shane.-question. if they find your car in violation say due too battery box, will they allow you too run?

I've never been not allowed to race. It's always been a fix it for next time sort of thing.
So far:
Outdated belts
No bar brace behind non-stock seat
No sealed battery box

i re-located my battery behind the rear seat and used a marine type battery box with a nylon strap. i've only been questioned about it once...but nothing was really said about it. just asked how it was mounted and such...mind you i'm not busting out 13 sec passes.........yet
