hi guys and gals,
i recently fell i love with a 1969 westy and have regretfully come to the conclusion i cannot have two vintage vehicles
under my belt. Soooo, selling my 1971 yellow (tremclad yellow) that's right...it was painted here! looks great, you be the JUDGE!
A bit about the car; i bought it about 2 years ago and paid it off bit by bit and finally got it last summer. drove it from the okanagan to Vancouver and then...after a few months of fun...the bus APPEARED!
List of what was done by my friendly vw maniac Dave from lake country:
new carb and points plugs, new clutch and brakes all around.(got a stack of bills of everything done)
As it was already a solid little girl, the body work i had done on it was on the rust spots on the outer shell (documented)
installed a nice radio and bought some new rims...etc..etc..etc...
The car has got a very solid U engine , according to samba.com its a type 3 engine. very good.
exhaust is a rumbler, giving it a few more horspowers and a cool sound.
That being said, it needs more tlc like any vw of that era.
it has sometimes the sb "shimmies" and that's also a typical documented condition of the sb. it shakes sometimes
at low speeds and curves but I had it checked over. it's safe. very good steering. also, the hockey stick for the reverse
gear should have been changed but wasn't so it gears up smoothly no issues at all on the 4 speeds but to reverse
you need to keep your hand on the gear lever. part cost: $29 at cip.com. how to install IT? remove engine. yep:)
SO, the price, its $5 grand, I paid $3500 for it and invested roughly $1500 in parts and work...it's negotiable but...
don't break my.....please.:)
serious buyer wanted not just ( can we take her for a RIDE? bullshit...) THANKS!
