Title: Lookin For Support
Post by: Matt on August 12, 2004, 07:47:13 PM
I need a large \"bow down\" to the mighty 45 gods.
I finally got around to installing the new wheel bearing and readjusting the front brakes, fire it up and she leaks fuel from the lines..Damn!! ]:(  Change the hoses and install new clamps, no leaky!  :D

I figure I gotta test the new bearing, make it to the end of the alley and bang. There goes the other fr. bearing. Damn!! only problem this time is, it happens to be the same side as the brake rotor, which is installed using stainless fasteners in an Aluminum hub. Good idea  The rotor has to come off for the outer race to be knocked out of the hub. I broke all 3 fasteners.
What I ended up doing was turn the wheel around, drill and tap new holes for the rotor on the other side of the hub. I just need to pick up a new bearing tomorrow, install the wheel and cross my fingers.

wow matt, i'm so sorry to hear that you're having problems with your pocket pool bike. ;)

so did the manufacturer use real fisher price bolts to hold the hub to the axle?

heres an idea. if all the mighty 45s break down this weekend, we can crush them and recycle the plastic and metal to make something thats worth a little more.

like a citroen.
