I'm new to this area and have been trying to find my self a decent ride hear in Vancouver, i've been looking for some sort of splitty or solid type 3 wagon, like most of you i guess im looking for something that is a solid runner that still needs work. Alass my search is so far fruitless , so i figure that being so close to the border i could increase my chances by looking south.
The thing is as i'm new hear i dont really understand what would be involved in bringing a car back up to Canada as regards customs/taxes etc.
Would anyone have any practical experience of this type of thing be able to share a bit of knowledge and help me end by relationship with BC Translink...
Any info would be most appreciated.

No duty if car is 15yrs or older. You'd have to pay GST and Provincial sales taxes. Check EBAY MOTORS (http://motors.listings.ebay.com/Passenger-Vehicles_Volkswagen_W0QQlotrZ1QQsacategoryZ6018QQsocmdZListingItemListQQsocolumnlayoutZ3QQsocustoverrideZ1) or The Samba (http://www.thesamba.com/vw/) .
I often see VW's for sale in Washington.

also keep in mind anything you buy will have to pass a vehical inspection here before you can register it in your name.they will check to make sure the numbers match the car so do so before buying as well.when bringing something across the border (U.S.) wants three days prior notice(they have some forms to fill out) so they can do their own search for stolen vehicals ect.
