An electric Westy might be work for Europe where countries are small. But I don't see it being to useful in Canada, or the USA, where the distances are much larger.
Back to the future: Volkswagen Camper van is set for a comeback - and this time it'll be ELECTRIC
VW Westfalia Camper was designed in the 1950s and discontinued in 2003
New electric version is set to get batteries hidden under the floor
Design hasn't yet been revealed but it will share details with the original
Engineers are making a concept but it's not certain if the van will be sold

So we'll be trading in the freeze your ass off in winter and dropped valve seat in summer anxiety for the electric car battery range anxiety. Right. Same shit different generation.
Oh well, by the time these new Westys hit the road maybe the Arnold and Gordo electric highway will be a reality from here to LA and we will be able to drive down the coast and every 150 miles or so pull over and have a glass of chardonnay and smoke a big fat one while the Westy gets juiced. Can't wait.
