Title: Stuff you've found in your VW...
Post by: bwaz on September 03, 2014, 11:27:02 AM
Besides the mouse nest usually found in an old vehicle that was "new to you", I found this 1992 music poster yesterday. Don't remember ever seeing "Bad Spasm" live before! ;)

I found a lot of "paraphanalia" in one of mine, which also had enough stereo wiring for about 3 systems, go figure... I scored a bc transit route map and fare guide from the early 80s in an oval. my Baja came with a collection of live 22 shells and a couple shotgun shells as well. it also had nails for fuses! the best prize was a 13mm hazet combination wrench in a 1302

60's cocaine flaps with artwork detailing them.......that was in the drug runner it was a 64 bus with secret flaps to hide drugs when he crossed the border!

I think a Cheech and Chong special would be a very definite maybe for the Drug Runner!

That guy must have been doing some really weird shit when he redesigned the cooling system though.

Memorable moments from Lester's yard.

In our first 1975 Bus we bought we found under the side and rear seats:

1. a 20 ton low profile bottle jack (ala Princess Auto $74.99).   I guess they wanted to make sure they had a jack that would lift up their giant bus?

2. when I bought it the guy related how they just returned from a trip to Tofino and I'm looking at this bus thinking "um...yeah, the brakes are leaking all over, the gears are questionable and the frame is rustier than anything I've worked on before, I don't think anyone has driven this from Vancouver to Tofino and back in any recent years....." but I'm too nice to ridicule so I keep my thoughts to myself.  A few nights later as I'm exploring the insides (under the seats), I find all these flyers for points of interest in Tofino, a couple empty shopping bags and a couple receipts from Tofino stores.   I felt bad......
