Title: Fender to Bellingham
Post by: Herrlowlight on June 09, 2014, 07:28:21 PM
Lets say I have a ghia fender that I'd like to drop off at Greyhound in Bellingham. What kind of stupidity will I face at the border trying to do that?

only once have they charged me a $10 "user fee" at the u.s. border because I was selling something cross the border. Usually, no problem at all.

You're going to Greyhound from Bellingham to Seattle? I make that trip on average about once a month, sometimes more. If he's not in a hurry and if you want to leave it with me I'd be happy to take it down sometime.

Unless you're giving it away for free, you have to fill out US Customs form 7533.  Google the form.
Then create an invoice to show US customs the value.  After you have both pages, get in the "Truck" lineup at the Truck crossing.  You can't go through Peace Arch.  Have $10.75 to pay for customs fee.

Sometimes it can be a big time saver too.  Holiday weekend lineups can be bypassed in the truck lanes.

Just shipped the fenders and hoods via Canpar. Lowlight fenders and rear hood to California was $54 each piece. Shipped from Burnaby Canpar office.. pretty easy
