Title: 69 gas pedal question
Post by: Richard Kuczko on May 18, 2014, 12:49:04 PM
In behind the gas pedal is the suppose to be a spring to help push the pedal back all the way.  Or is just as I see it, that the spring In the engine compartment  recoils the pedal.  Thanks who ever answers.

The return spring on the carb is what brings the pedal back towards the driver into the "upright", throttle-off, position. There is a small spring on the pedal, which is supposed to be setup pulling the pedal forward towards the front bumper. This keeps the pedal from flopping back towards the driver into a very awkward and potentially dangerous position when, say, parked on a steep hill at a red-light.
