Title: Audi cat converter
Post by: nivag on April 16, 2014, 03:20:55 PM
I need a new catalytic converter for my A4. Dealer price is insane, so anyone have any experience in Audi or water-cooled VW using a after market CAT with any luck?

Thx for any info. Gavin

I only need it for friggn airfare, so removing not an option. Plus the n/a 3ltr needs the back pressure to run well.

Altrom should have them.  Check their catalog.  As well have you tried VM Autohaus.  And don't forget steveo_32 @ Lordco.  Autopartsway.ca pulls from the Worldpac  system.  They should have your item.  If all else fails Rockauto in the US.

Can you wait until I'm back next week?  What's the pipe diameter? I seem to think 2.5", but if it's 2.25" I have a universal one in my garage you can have welded in. If not, I can probably get you a 2.5" mid may.

Gavin, I hate to tell you this but take the hit and buy the Audi one. The aftermarket one will give you problems in the future and you'll be doing it all over again. We don't even give our customers the option of an aftermarket one anymore. Way too many issues.
