Title: Cranbrook show and shine. And swap and heritage Cruz
Post by: Richard Kuczko on March 22, 2014, 02:14:34 PM
Tammy and I are going to organize a swap in cranbrook.  Seems to be a lot of old vws and parts floating around this area that need good homes.   So far we have a good location, food truck for the event, cruise to fernie and lots of interest.  We are looking for suggestions on what would bring more people out here and if there is out of town interest.  Also a date that would work.

Cranbrook a my home town and growing up I saw a lot of veedubs around there so I imagine if it were to be advertised all the way up to invermere , Nelson etc you would probably have a big turnout . I would love to go to this !!!

We're making a schedule up now. The basic is it will be on the august long weekend.  There will be a swap and breakfast on Saturday.  Camping over night at our lake at Jim smith lake and show and shine.  And cruise to fernie for dinner if people like.   If this first year shows interest we will keep building on it and do it annually

Sounds good. I'm all about events you can camp at. Why have a bus and sleep in a hotel?

Hello...new to the site and am happy to see a few from nearby Cranbrook here. We would definitely be interested in a swap and campout if we are around. We own a 77 VW bus which we have had for a year now. Have been enjoying cleaning it up and restoring it a bit. She's on the road this weekend and am looking forward to getting the winter dust off her.

Are there plans for a cruise somewhere too? Being in a long line of brightly coloured Vdubs snaking along a scenic road is one of my favourite things.

We can change the cruise and so a stop at fort steel for a park and then carry on to Kimberly   That sounds like a good cruise.

So to up date the show and shine.  The vw dealership has stepped up along with the free entry to show shine and the great pancake breakfast they will be having prizes and trophys for there favourite type 1,2,3. Along with prizes

So I'm calling out as many people as I can to come to this event. Let's get them excited out here to keep thus going every year.

There's a couple more Late Bays ( 78,79) in Kimberley that I will be pushing the owners to bring to the show. Looking forward to seeing as many VW's there as possible.

Just let people know about the updated news.  A lot of great local response for such a small town.  It's amazing how many calls are coming in and people coming.  I know it's funny but our mla bill Bennett  will be there.  I know I know.   Big woop lol.  If it was Angelina Jolie now were talking.
