I am interested in vehicle transport for a beetle, from Saskatoon to Surrey BC.
Anyone?
-
how much are you willing to spend?...
-
Its a longshot asking but I thought, why not try.
So far the best offer has been 1000$
-
Thats not not a bad deal, I wouldn't want to do it for less!
-
16 hour drive each way for someone leaving from here... $1000 is not bad but if you could find a truck that's heading here from the east coast with one empty spot on the trailer... maybe easier said than done? Maybe a craigslist ad in Ontario, Manitoba or Saskatchewan to see if anyone's heading this way. Anyone driving to the Grey Cup and want to drag a u-haul behind them home? ;)
-
Thanks Brian for all your help and encouraging words.
Unfortunately if I don't find someone coming this way anyways, and looking to offset the cost...
The vehicle I'm looking at isn't worth the extra $1000 to get it here.
lets see it needs heater channels, all 4 wings, a Wdeck lid, a front and rear clip.
Pan is useless, ratty ripped up interior, no engine, tranny of unknown condition etc. etc.
I may have to stick to my alternative plan of a 57 :(

Have you tried Uship.com?
I got some pretty competitive quotes using their site, and if you are open on your dates the quotes can be even cheaper. Guys towing will bid on jobs, and if they're trying to add to a load they already have will bid lower.

u could fly out there then rent a uhaul truck and put it in the back may be the cheapest way !
-
I did a quick Uhaul online quote, and it was $1600 for a truck and t-trailer!
-
Wowww ya not a good idea lol what about a cube van rental !
-
Yes I have submitted the job to uship.
First bid came in yesterday at $722.00.
-
would it be cheaper if he just built a crate for it and it went on a regular transport truck? A couple of palettes joined together with 2x4's and some straps over the roof would do it. A truck with a pallet jack and tailgate could pick it up?
-
I accepted a bid for vehicle transport ftom Saskatoon to my door in the South Surrey.
Uship.com made it easy and worthwhile. I received about 13 quotes in 2 weeks.
New project gets picked up nov.23rd :)
-
ok so what was the final bid.
-
577$ + $29 to uship for the service.
-
wow, that almost makes it worth considering! (go Joel go) ;)
-
Sounds like you may be getting a CDN standard? Sweet!
-
If you leave you transport times fairly flexible, transporters will bid low just to offset fuel costs on their existing jobs. I'm pretty stoked to have get my delivery by the end of the month. I guess I better make room to start on the pan ;)
Hmmmm....
