Anyone on the site a Eurovan specialist? Trying to learn more about them before considering a purchase at some point.

when I was in the wrecking business, they were a gold mine, if you could get one. rear springs like to break, (?). front fenders are welded, not bolted on,(???). interiors are very good fit and finish with nice materials. used parts for the diesel engines are almost impossible to find, and are also gutless beyond belief. I've been told the 5 cyl gas ones can do 200kph on the autobahn. great view like a vanagon when driving, only way better handling. the big thing is finding used parts mainly because very few were sold, and they don't get crashed very often. so I guess one could surmise eurovan owners are very safe drivers! my 2 cents

after test driving one, i don't know how long, and what kind of downhill you'd need to get the 5 cylinder one to get 200kmph ;) All in the package I guess, you can get a eurovan at a reasonable price, but add the camper interior and it quadruples in price. People are quick to say $20k, but there's so many things that need to be maintained... that one can easily be a better deal than the other! I've read some of the normal concerns, auto transmission, air conditioning pump... and think I'll hold out for a VR6 instead of the 5 cyl version.

I'd buy one in Europe and get it shipped out. It will be faster and still work out cheaper.

sure, it's a beauty.... but at only 67.975, Euro's for nice new one... it's a steal ;( Hmm... try and get parts for it????

I thought you meant an older one. They are called T4's and T5's in the UK, but a mainland one will have steering wheel on the correct side obviously.

I think it was 2002 for the last year in Canada?
-
I've no idea, but it needs to be 15 years old before you can import it.
-
Worst job I ever did was the a/c in a eurovan, actually could have been a late westy? What a nightmare those pricks are to work on!
-
My daughter in laws folks bought a diesel version about a year ago and they really enjoy it. The guy that they got it from imports a couple a year. Give me a buzz if you want some more info Brian.

I remember selling the Eurovan's when I worked with Bruce at Langley VW, 1999was the last year
That VW Canada produced them. I remember helping Bruce with a order allocation, we were able to order 3, we did that and we sold them all!
I remember they had a 3 rd row seat option making it a 7 seater!
Price was around $50,000 back then
