Does anyone have a line on it on Vancouver or Surrey?
Thanks

Not positive but I believe I read that the current rotella isn't the same zinc loaded formula that we got a couple years back?
-
The zinc is gone but theres another additive thats supposed to replace it.ac delco engine oil supplement, comp cams breakin additive, or there is hyperlube. Mopac carries some others. Possibly joe gibbs oil also at mopac
-
Any oil's currently on the market have no zinc, minus the speciatly ones
comp cams oil, joe gibs, lucas 15w40 off road formula, (or just lucas off road formula)
additives are from, fedral mogel, comp cams, ac delco oil supplement, ect ect
a litte EOS additive is just a good thing to run.
the shell rotella and the delo 400 are the oils most seem to run, the shell rotella is the pennzoil and quaker state 15w40 shell is the parent company of both and there oils come from the same foundry.

i was at the local hot rod club monthly meeting ( a few years back), and the was a 2 hour discussion on zddp ( the zinc additive they removed ). what i learned was that: a; the additive is designed to make oil cling to "high shear areas" like lifter and cam lobe surfaces. b; it was removed to make catalytic converters last 100,000 miles as directed by the u.s. gov't.c; roller lifters is the instant cure for modern oil.
that being said, if your valve spring are super high pressure, you're going to have lobe failures, and mighty quick. i don't know what the exact number is. so if you got a stock 1200, you're very unlikely to have grief. i've got bugpack high rev springs in my engine and have never had grief, but i also have scat lifters with that oiling hole, a possible cure???. i've also broken in new v-8s with stocks springs and never had grief either.
so if you have the option of roller lifters, you're crazy not to use them. and if not, get some additive

I get about two guys a week that toast there top ends, not so much for us aircooled dudes, but everything else run er.

bah! who needs lubrication anyway?!?!
i think i'd cry having my cam lobes ground off from having the wrong oil....
