Post by: getgeoff on March 04, 2013, 08:14:43 AM
Hey everyone, this is the official notice that the okanagan boys will be putting on the first VW swapmeet in Kelowna May 18, 2013.  This event could be a big one as we hope to draw the BC interior, coastal boys and the Alberta folk's  too.  There will be indoor/outdoor spots with lots of parking and hotdogs. Bring your table or lay down a tarp and sell/trade or buy your vintage vw parts.  More details to follow.

Yes, it's being held in the back warehouse of KMS Tools and Equipment located at  158 Penno just off HWY 97 Kelowna. This is the North end of Kelowna just before the university and the airport.

Hey Jerome, we hope that you will be there bringing lots of cool stuff. There will be a regisration but we would like to keep it simple. To anyone who would like to have a spot please send me an email and approx how much space you will want. The spots are free and we are looking into renting out a table if you need one. Please email me at  getgeoff@hotmail.com . The times of swap will be either be a 9 or 10 am start. We need people to have the time to set up and for folks from out of town to make it here. As we progress and talk more with my fellow okanagan boys I hope to have a formal notice of all the details soon.

Hey every body we had a type uh-oh on the back of the KMS Tools flyer it goes to say it's a VW only show. So just giving a heads up I will be setting up a space for VW only parking and small car show to go along with our swap meet. No awards just show and shine but I will have some swag to give away as the day goes on. Also will be BBQ hot dogs and pop from 10-2pm by donation. I'm hoping this goes well for us cause it's the make it or break it for getting KMS to start pushing some VW parts to go along with our hot rod parts.
Title: Re: May 18 Kelowna VW swapmeet
Post by: scubagord on May 02, 2013, 10:12:33 PM
That sounds great. A local supplier of VW parts!!!! We should all get our buddies with VW's to bring their cars out to this event and show our support for KMS to put on an event like this for us. Remember there is a swap meet as well so bring out your parts and lots of money to buy everything that is for sale.
This will be a great day. If all goes well this year it will become a yearly event with cruises as well. Maybe we should call it the "Great Okanagan VW Show"

Gordo!

My split isn't going to be ready in time, but I'm still coming up in my bay Westy. I'll have limited room as I'm camping in it that weekend too. So let me know what I should bring.

I have an oval speedo, ultra desirable bay instrument cluster with tripmeter speedo and clock, 17" porsche twists with tires, split bus beam, some split bus t shirts I printed. If you need anything specific, just ask. Mostly Bay window stuff is what I have. Also a complete set of guages for a 73 911T. Seats for it too (red).

I'm looking for a '65-67 low back (front) passenger seat TOP only (don't need the bottom cushion).  Either the '66-and-earlier low back with low adjuster, or the late-'67 with upper adjuster will work.  Let me know what you have.

Upholstery condition doesn't matter, as I already have replacement upholstery to install.

Thanks!

Any chance there is someone coming down from Kamloops?  Who has room for a passenger to go back that night?  I'll pay for the gas on the way back.
I am just trying to be two places at once. My kids are running in the Centennial Meet in Kamloops, but I do not want to miss the swap meet either.
