Title: alternator conversion?

Im sure someone has done gen to alt conversion.i bought a used motor for my 70 bug and it has an alternator.problem is I dont know if its internal or external regulated or if it needs to be wired to my old regulator or bypass .. any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks, I think ive figured it out with your help. A little more checking to do but so far seems ok.
