Title: Port Mann bridge question
Post by: blarneyman on December 05, 2012, 04:21:07 PM
Just wondering if us USers have to pay to cross? Is it the same as Golden Ears?

Thanks. I thought it was the same. My daughter has to drive to Burnaby area twice a week. She can be quite cheap at times and was wondering if she was going to be looking for a different route.  ;)

From the Treo site:
Failing to pay your toll
Once you receive your invoice, you have 30 days to pay your tolls. After 30 days interest will be accrued daily on the outstanding balance at a rate of 19% per year, compounded monthly. Once your balance reaches more than $25 in tolls, your account will be classified as Refuse To Issue (RTI). ICBC will be notified that you are unable to renew your driver's license or car insurance until the toll debt has been paid in full. At this time, additional fees and interest charges may also apply.
Unpaid tolls by out of province users will be subject to collections.

The Alex Fraser bridge will still be free, and I don't think her trip will be much longer going that way.  Check out the map.  Also consider the new perimeter freeway that will connect hwy 1 to Tsawwassen along the south shore of the river.

Toll all the bridges!

25ยข a crossing, then get rid of the inflated wages and pensions of the MLA's.

Don't pay the stinking tolls! do like all the other Morons who sit idleing in traffic on one of the other routes and waste 2 hours of your day as well as burn 3 times more gas to save a buck and a half!
