Russ told me about this board. I talked to him a bit on the rec.automakers.vw.aircooled(ramva) news group.
I'm on the other side of the country in Montreal and there are no  vw clubs around  :( . I've had my '55 euro oval in storage for the last 5 yrs, and figured I'd better start restoring it soon. Bought the car in Lethbridge, Alberta and towed it home with a towbar behind my '88 Mustang. What a trip that was.. :o  The only rust on the car is on the rear bumper mount area on both sides. And the fenders are all pretty banged up.
