That's right boys and girls my car fired up for the first time in 3 years tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had the usual few minor mishaps - 2 leaky fuel lines (fixed damn quickly) and I blew my oil filter outlet line off (one of 2 fiitings on my entire car that aren't AN) and they are being replaced tomorrow with proper fittings.
I have to adjust my valves as I seem to be only running on 2 cylinders (#1+#3 exhaust tubes did not get hot but #2+#4 did) but all in all it went fairly well. Had to call it a night as my daughter was going \"night,night\".
Tmrw I'll bleed my brakes one more time, adjusting the valves and then off to the alignment shop I go!
Anything I might be missing as far as not running on all 4?
Here is a vid clip for your viewing pleasure (or displeasure if you have to race me right Brian)

Way to go James. 2 cylinders isnt too bad it just means your half way there. B)
-
Good to see it go! See you at the track on Friday!
-

Oh ya, you better believe it!
I never ever will trust a forcast again!
Oh well with the rain i'll just go ever things and make sure everything is right - might not be able to get an alignment though, but it won't really see the road till next weekend anyways.

running on 2 cylinders? :o
did you put all the pistons, rush rods, valves , etc, in? How about the manifold? and carb? plug wires? plugs?
I'm hoping for good weather down in McMinnville at the Porsche 356 outlaw gathering this weekend. I hope they like notches. B)

great vid james...now you gotta come down and help me out!! Hehe..

Damn!!! Nice Jamie... i have yet to make one of my engines run on more than two. It's not that bad as a friend told me.....at least we look cool!! B)
-
Right on James!! Mine should be running next week!!! Cross your fingers...
-
Wow I wish my car was cool enough to shoot flames.
-
Good job James, I like how fast your neighbor ran when the flames started out the exhaust!! hehe
-
Should have seen him tonight :)
Thanks a bunch to Shane who cam over and gave me a hand tonight - all that's left is sync the carbs and time it.
I wish Geoff wasn't down south as I'm sure the jetting will be off and he is the only one I know with the big box o' jets.
Funny thing happened - I was bleeding my brakes then I was going to adjust them - got to the passenger front and look in the peep hole....Where the hell are my brake shoes!!!! I guess I missed that step :) That could have been disasterous! Lesson learned though always double check your work - and If it' sme doing the work for you triple check it!
-
so we can call you shoeless joe jackson from now on. :P
-
glad to hear it is running... not stopping but running
Good job guys...
Maybe Hans know what kina jets you should have for that engine size?? I will ask
