Anybody know where I can get a 4 inch narrowed beam WITH shock towers and steering lock stops in Canada? I know I can get them in the States but the shipping is EXPENSIVE!
The 2 inch narrowed one I have now still makes my wheels stick out like a tractor!

Franklins in Seattle, drive down and pick one up!
-
i have been debating heading down and getting one as well
heard nothing but good things about them
-
Good call, I'll talk to them tomorrow.

So it appears my maths skills alluded me yesterday and I actually have a stock width beam, hense the tractor appearance of the front end. Added to that the drop spindles and disc brakes and it looks retarded!!!
A road trip to Franklins seems to be in order for tomorrow.

This is my old car with a 4" narrowed beam from Franklins, CB Wide Five disc, drop spindles and 125's.

Call first to make sure they have stock!

Wasn't there a guy on this site that makes beams? Dirty Deeds or something?
-
I sent Dirtydeeds a message but he hasn't been active on here since Feb. Been trying to call Franklins all day but no answer.
I'm running 17x7's all round with 215's so I need to get the wheels in quite a bit. I think my tyres will still scrub with a 2 inch beam. As long as I can get a 4 inch with shock towers and a steering damper mount I should be all good. Combine that and 5 degrees neg camber on the front and I shouldn't have any problems.

he's MIA
i think he's dealing with some family issues:(
i will try franklins as well

i have 16x7's all around and with a 3inch narrowed beam , drilled drums and i turned the camber nut to give me full neg camber i still had to roll the fenders. as for the rear the neg camber was just enuff to tuck them but thats again with the rolled finders and drilled drums.
i should have done the 4incher , but back when i had it done it was almost unheard of with the 3inch.

I talked to Dirty D, he's been busy but he will get back to you

Wouldn't this one work?
http://www.cip1.ca/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C26-401-017-4
I have it on my '57 and it seems to be fairly good quality. Not going to be as nice as the stuff from Franklins but it does the job.

Frank makes a great Product.

Maybe I should get into the narrowed beam business. What year a bug is this for?

No that one won't work as my 57 sits on a 70 pan. So I need a ball joint beam.
The rear sits perfect so I have no issue at the back at all.
I've done a bunch of measurements and with the amount of neg camber I am going to be running on the front (neg 5 degrees) I think a 2 inch will work. I don't want to lose the turning circle like you do with a 4 inch as this car will be seeing the track on occassion (hense the neg camber) and by track I mean real track where you actually drive around corners!
Thanks for all the feedback, it seems that this is going to be a gamble no matter which way I go.

from lookin at your pics on F/B it apears that they are flush with the fenders, if so then 2" would work.
-
A friend just picked up a 4" beam from Franklins and it is by far superior to KCW's beam.

Just curious. Whats the difference between the two?

STALKER!!!!
I measured it for one last time with a level and a depth gauge. The overhang was .5 of an inch and 1 inch to the inside fender lip so I decided to go for a 2 inch narrowed beam. The beam is in the car already, however I will not know the results until next weeks as my upper control arms are at Chassis Works in Chilliwack getting a little tweak for my camber.
I am so impatient!!!!
