"needs to be an automatic" what kind of father are you when you haven't taught your kids how to drive a stick....we're going down the tubes guys.....

In the UK you have to take your test in a standard, otherwise you are only allowed to drive an auto. Probably 98% of all cars, vans and trucks are standard so it limits your choice. You have to be cruel to be kind.

If you want a stick, then you have the choice to buy one. Looks like Brian's daughter wants an automatic. To each his (or hers) own.
Hope she finds what she's looking for.

Rekka that same rule use to be in BC also (not sure if it still is). They use to list the codes on the back of your license and it was one of the codes. Bwaz knows I am joking...

Not any more, I had to retake my test when I moved here from the UK 8 years ago. A nice toyota echo auto rental car did the trick. If I'd immigrated from Australia or Korea, my licence would have been transferred. Go figure?
I knew you were joking, but not sure everyone did. Just a bit of banter.

I am actually surprised that automakers even give us the choice anymore. From what I see when I look around almost no one drives a standard anymore.

I'd hate to count the driving attempts and tears gone through to get to this stage... reality is she's paying for lessons to get her license and needs a vehicle. The options, I continue to be delivery driver, or she gets an auto... I know which option I vote for! ;)
(I had considered trading in my wifes car for an auto... but realized that's just stupid!)

she is just waiting for you to finish the split so she can drive it.

Let me get an automatic tranny in that too Alp! ;)
