Airmighty #07 (currently at the printers, then will be bound, then packed & shipped to the shelves) will include coverage of the Great Canadian VW Show 2011!!!

6 glossy, thick pages!! 30 full colour, high res photos (27 by the very talented Alan Uyeno and 3 by my girl Lori)!! 500 word story (in 3 languages...english, german, french) covering all 3 days events (strip show & smc, cip1 breakfast, the cruise, the bp meet, and of course the big show & swap)!!

this one is going to be a keeper for sure!! we're talking vault status!! this issue also includes features from ebi4 and bad camberg, komori's black heb, and alot of other cool stuff!!

plus...it will have 2 seperate covers. 1 cover will be of the heb (for sale on the shelves) and 1 cover will be the limited edition collectors cover (see pic below...only available if you subscribe, a little pricey, but well worth it for the quality & content)...

hopefully AVR will have these in stock when they become available (soon), so i recommend you contact them directly or pm number3 (rob frose) on the airspeed forum and tell him you want one!! or invest in some good reading for the next year (plus the cool limited edition cover) and subscribe!!

spread the word...tell all your friends, tell all the local clubs, let all the local acvw merchants know...make sure everyone gets a copy of #07!! let's sell this one out!!

for those not familiar with this magazine...it is a quarterly (4 issues per year), is printed on thick, glossy paper, usually runs about 160 pages per issue, covers events and cars from around the world from contributors around the world, is printed in 3 languages, and is the ACVW version of Rodders Journal!! quality is number one!! read more about it here...

I have contacted Airmighty to make sure we get enough copies for this issue.  I will post as soon as I have confirmation of the number of issues they will send and when to expect them.  PM me if you want on the waiting list.

I love this mag, top quality and has been getting me through these crapy winter days when I just cant get the garage warm enough to get motivated and get some work done on my car.

i hear ya chris...unfortunately only available if you subscribe or have a subscription allready tho!

i thought this was really cool and something not many would know .last friday myself and Silas were talking about this mag and i mentioned that i never new someone from airmighty was over for the great cdn.what he told me was he was in contact with the magazine staff and in the end they used pictures that Alllan had taken and Silas gave all the details they would need to go with the photos as well as the weekends information .so congradulations to Silas for his effort and Allan for his photos .

The Airmighty issue #7 was shipped out at the end of last week.  I assume they should be at AVR in the next couple of weeks or sooner hopefully.   :whoo:

Good news.  I have tracking numbers.  Bad news is they link to the Dutch postal site.  I can see they are coming but I can't understand anything else since my dutch is really poor........actually non existent. :band1:

Everyone that pm'd me should have received a pm from me saying I had you on the list.  I will pm again so you have confirmation.

Issue #7 is going for $28.50 plus tax. 

I also managed to grab 2 extra copies of the collector's cover issue that is only available to people with subscription.  First come first served on these for $ 38.50.

I have 2 spare issues of the regular cover for issue #7.  I can get more in the future if need be.

just to elaborate on what jim said on page 2 and to bring everyone up to speed on how this happened...

shortly after the gcvws last august, i approached niels (airmighty head honcho) and asked him if he would be interested in running a feature on the gcvws. niels said yes, so i contacted the dvkk to get their blessing and to make sure that we wouldnt be stepping on anyone elses journalistic toes (hotvws/ultravws/stephan szantai/dean kirsten/etc invest alot of time & money in coming to canada each year to cover the event, and we didnt want this to get in the way of their coverage). then i got ahold of alan and he graciously accepted to let the magazine use his pictures. we sent niels links to all of alans pics and loris pics (of the cruise)...and niels chose all the pictures (except for 2 that i suggested he use) for the feature and he did the layout. then i wrote the captions for the pics and story (i was given 500 words max and i think i ended up at 501...it's was very hard to condense 3 awesome days of events into that many words...i think the 1st version i wrote was around 800...!).

the whole reason behind this was to get some more exposure for the gcvws, this awesome local scene, and all the incredible people involved!! and it really could not have been possible without the hard work and enthusiasm of everyone involved in this scene...and i mean everyone!!

special thanks for this project go to alan, lori, and niels for making it all possible!
