If you don't mind overheating #3 and overcooling #4, getting crappy fuel mileage and wearing out your engine
twice as fast, then it should be fine.....  :wacko:  :wacko:  :wacko:

How often due thermostats fail  and how much due they expand and contract anyone know ? Scratchy was just given the sane advice to leave them alone or get beat -up . Don't know if you don't ask . Thanks . was trying to test thermostat out of car  :( cant find growth measurement anywhere.

As long as it opens up all the way to the top stop when it hits 65-70C, 150-158F.
It's most important to have it adjusted correctly.

Here's the pages out of the shop manual;

(This one is for a T3)

They suggest testing it in hotwater....
