Title: measurements of the front beam

I have a 74 standard beetle. The car was lowered on an adjustable beam prior to purchase. I have been considering a narrowed beam to run bigger wheels. My question is what is the measurements (length) of the stock beam/front axle tube???  .... Or how can I tell if my current beam has already been narrowed?
