Title: Looking for a skilled welder
Post by: Jodasa on June 02, 2011, 05:31:18 PM
Welder must be competent enough to replace the transmission cradle and torsion tube on a bus. I have the replacement cradle etc. I have all of the tools necessary and an adequate mig welder on gas. I would like a quality and safe finished product. I can paint, do some metal prep etc.  The work can be done at my house under a portable tent, or your location if necessary. In my current medical state I can't be crawling around on my back for very long.

Contact me if you can do this job and will give me a quote.

Thanks, Joel

I would like to try to get this job done this month?
Early next month?

I'm not looking for the lowest bidder... I want someone that can do the job properly and spend the time to do it right.

I canl remove the engine and tranny etc.

it has been two weeks and you still haven't found a welding guy?  Look up metal fab or welding on Craigslist or the yellow pages.

Honestly I was hoping to spread my money and the opportunity for work within the local VW communit first.
I was also hoping to find someone familiar with buses so that I don't come out of this with a tweaked rear end or something.
Been there done that. I just want to do this once.

I have 220 and a Millermatic 210 on gas ready to go! Just no shop, only a tent.
How long until your shop is ready?
