Title: cheveron gear oil
Post by: jim martin on May 31, 2011, 10:59:03 PM
thought i would post this up here as well as it looks like a very good option .
sometimes ,half the fun of any project seams to be doing some research and seeing whats out there .and i must admit i have learned allot about the different gear oils available and there ratings etc  .for sure there is a very limited non synthetic gear oils available that have the correct amount of friction to allow correct syncro operation and still allow for high load and temperature .most seam to be a gl-5 oil without friction modifiers.
came across this and did the normal internet research and it looks very promissing for a vw performance transaxle .both gl-4 and gl-5 rated and i could not find any negative internet posts relating to shifting .
anyone local running this yet ?
