I know that there is a members section, but there is no picture gallery, so I decided to post some of my old rides in the lounge. These are not my current rides, so I wouldn't post them in the members section anyways... :P

The black & yellow bug was extremely fast, it had a Hill climb competition winning 356 S90 motor in it. I can't remember much of what was on it, except that it was bored out to the max pretty much. I'm sure Stephan can elaborate more on the motor! Did you put dual webber 48's on it Stephan? I can't remember!

the 66 doesnt have the 356 motor in it now, i think its a darren k built 2110...

yup...thats right

I parted out the motor and the car.  the motor was sold to the owner of the matching race buggy that john haftner had build in the late 60's.  The yellow buggy and the S90 motor were built together, but then also sold to different owners...me being the buyer of the S90 motor.  I loved it in my bug, but it had a few issues, and I needed a nice winter car to pull up to the mountains for snowboarding.  so I sold the beetle and the motor.  

I'm going to be happy with my GTI, but I want an aircooled soon!!!

The put a spoiler and a big stinger exhuast on it last time I saw it.

My name is Rudi Langner aka Wapid Woodie.  I've owned a '73 VW Super Beetle (Beige), a '80 VW Rabbit (Green) with a 2 liter and John Haftner's Yellow Dunebuggy.  I would like to find any pictures that people might have of the Dunebuggy.  I used to work at Canadian Cash & Carry & Tekam Automotive.  I used to slalom (autocross) & hillclimb.  I was also a member of the Thunderbugs.  I hope some people still visit this site and maybe I can find some pictures of the buggy or maybe even the owner of it.

The 356 super90 motor is still in the buggy, in my garage I bought the car back in 1991/1992. Bought the motor off Stephen about 8/9 years ago I think.
The car has quite a history, it was always very fast.
Hans K should have some photos of the car at an event at the boundary bay airport, in the rain.

Hey Rudy good to see you here.  I do have some pictures of it here some where but they are those old kind , you know,  on some kind of paper..... That you hold in your hand to look at....and you have to store in a big pile in your basement  , we'll some of you won't know what I mean but I will need find them ,then ask my technical directors (kids) to get them on this Internet thing.

WOW, VERY cool!

I never saw the buggy that went along with the engine!

Did you ever track down the original exhaust? The compression in that S90 engine was 13.5:1.  We lowered it to a streetable 9.0:1 for running pump gas with shims.  Everything else was the same!

I'd love to see this car back in action.  It is all together and running?

Hey Gavin,

My brother's saw it about 6 years ago in Abbotsford driving around by the same girl I sold it to.  She lived out there, so I'm assuming it might still be local?  It might be sitting dusty in a garage somewhere :(
