Hey ppl. its time for me to run new hard lines from my tank back to the FI system..in this book that came with the kit it tells me i need a 5/16\" return line and a 3/8\" main line..but it also says to use steel line...
would steel line not have some chance of rusting? i have been told that there is some type of soft aluminum seamless tubing on the market..and that its used on race cars..anyone have any idea where i could get my hands on stuff like this? or any sugestions on what would be best to use and possibly where to get it?
also...in my fuel rails..i have one valve used to check fuel PSI and the other rail has a plug in it..i was looking at these (autometer?) small gauges at lordco a while back..and i think they were for Fuel PSI...would there be any problem with threading one of these gauges into the fuel rail to keep an eye on the PSI while im out back playing with the motor?

you can try some stainless steel lines...
i got the stainless steel tubing from this place in richmond.

thanx for the info..i have been told that i cant have more then 12\" of rubber line in my car for the racing i want to do...
so im thinking with hard lines and the FI system i have..it might be very hard to have 12\" or less rubber..i might end up going all AN and SS braid line..
altho i remember seeing in a vw mag that there was a NHRA legal rubber line on the market now..humm...

Just use a SS braided line for any flexible lines.

Well, just got back from lordco..im gonna run about 4\" of rubber line from my tank..to the filter..and then the pump..from the pump to the first fuel rail im running SS braid..then SS braid to the next fuel rail..then out of that rail to my regulator im running a 5/16 (doubble flare?) (like a brake line) hard line..then from the reg back to the tank im running the same 5/16 hard line..all cost about 200 bucks.
and is supposed to be race legal.

sorry ,after reading your post below you need too do some more checking into what you need . i don't care how much rubber you can get away with . if you are going too all this trouble ,don't take shortcuts !!!!rubber!!
use all AN fittings and 37deg flares and braided line at all points
always build any car with safety in mind .build it knowing that if you crash at 100 mph you will walk away.if you need a 37 deg flare tool i have one.
safety first and speed will follow.

well i dont really have much choice in the rubber line to the fuel pump..otherwise i would use only SS braid.. the pump has a threaded output with a #6 an fitting on it..but the inlet side is stamped..or moulded..or what ever you want to call it..its part of the pump..and its for a 1/2\" hose..i cant fit an AN fitting on the intake side of the pump

37 deg is the standard for AN type lines-
like i say if you are installing hard lines i can help you out if needed.running them through the tunnel is not that hard ,some even run below in the channel where the body mount braket are , kind of a little protected channel there.
its obvious if you are building a turbo car IT WILL ACCELERATE HARD !!!
i was concerned when i read double flare, bad experiance in the past.
i just like things too be done a safe as possible ,just incase. especialy when it comes too fuel !!
--sounds like your pump is a inline type pump [bosch style]
if thats the case you will have no choice but too hose clamp it.
also good idea with the guage in the rear area i did the same and its nice too work on the car and have a guage right there.i think there are around $35.00-$50.00
what type of injection system is it??

The injection/turbo system is a CB performance hide away package..with the S2A turbo and dual 48mm T/Bs
its the system with the 4 adjuster knobs..
only other stuff i have added (or am waiting for in the mail is)
A turbo XS RFL Bov..an Aquamist water/alc injection system..
and soon to have a new type of A/f moniter..
and a few new little tricks that will take some time to figure out..
and yes its an Inline pump..so i am kinda screwed..
but whats the problem with a doubble flare for a fuel return line?
i was \"told\" that there should be no problem at all with a doubble flare return line..
I like safe also..safe is the way 2 go...i dont want to have a BBQ for a drag car....if there really is a problem with the doubble flare return line..let me know cuz that shit was cheap and i dont mind getting rid of it :)

thanx for the pics man..
i am done running the lines now..im gonna use a rubber line 2 hook it all from the tank to the pump...but i like what your doing...looks sharp..
anyhow..gtg get this regulator mounted..
