Looking for the steering wheel for a 79 SB. Would be nice to find the nice leather wrapped one (if that was indeed leather or not).

see I was thinking squareback till you mentioned '79.  to clarify it's for a SuperBeetle... Perhaps I just behind in the Super Lingo...
