Ouch Marty...New cars....will nickel and dime us to death.  Friends headlight burned out on his Dodge cummins 2007, $1,100 later he had a new computer that controls the headlights.  Nothing like just replacing the bulb anymore.  A freind with his 2009 truck $6000 to replace the front axle....for the second time in 2 years.  I am absolutely appaled at vehicle repairs.  Our truck has cost $16,000 to repair stuff since we bought it 3 years ago, this isn't tune up's either.  Tranny, injectors, injector pump, flexplate twice, and torque converter twice because of flexplate $1500 each time 2 months apart, front diff......list goes on and on... I feel your pain...It sucks!!!!! A pedal bike is looking more and more appealing

try buying the parts out of the States.  If it is anything like BMW parts for the older cars you will factory new for less than half price.

So for anybody else who has the same problem with the ignition and the vehicle loosing all power while driving....... I got a new switch for $41.00 cdn including shipping online ($188 from Napa), and I instaled it myself in 15 minutes(dealer charges 1 hour).  Also bought a new key from a locksmith because the old key had to be jiggled to turn over, for $22 ( dealer charges $88.00 each), and programing the new keys for $33.00 ( dealer charges $50.00 to program the new key to the factory imobilizer).

So the total came to $96.00.  Marty I think you replaced the whole ignition switch and cylinder, but you probably only needed to replace the switch, and get a new key cut.  The same as me.

Alp you are soo right in buying out of the states.  Reverse solenoid pack for the Odyssey tranny from Canada $798.00 and 1 month minimum wait as there are none in Canada,  $129.00 online and in stock,  from the US honda parts store.  WHY do  Canadians charge so much??????  Read some of my other posts too about price gouging in Canada....10 hp 3 phase converter $7000+ from Canada best price quoted even as high as $9,000 quoted.  I paid ( going back abit so might be off by abit) $1800 delivered to my door from USA for the exact same model number Balder converter......Anyway   price shop forsure when in doubt, more than likely you will save.  For $50.00 I don't bother with the US, but when its many $$$ I am thankful for the internet.
