Title: Passing of an Era
Post by: dblackie on February 13, 2011, 10:46:17 AM
Doug Blackie who, with Clare Jewett, founded Blackie and Jewett and later the original Westminster Volkswagen, died this morning in Penticton hospital following a lengthy illness.   He was 89.  He is survived by his wife Jeanne, son Robert (who worked as a parts man at Westminster VW) and son Douglas (Dori) and grandchildren Alex and Duncan.

My condolences to the Blackie Family.
Around this time last year, we lost another VW friend, Bruce Norman of Langley VW.
They are in a better place and in our hearts!
