Title: Finally got it home and safe!
Post by: dawerks on September 23, 2010, 08:21:55 PM
Just look at these floors!  Underneath is not as happy or inviting, but it's home and I will be slaving away at it!

The outriggers were AWOL, but even still it took forever to get it all cleaned up.

I left a massive clue in the photos!  (And one red herring??) I think it might be fun to guess what this bus is, but I will reveal all if that's too innane.

Worked on the rocker.  I thought I could leave it, but, come now!  These are vintage buses we're dealing with, so without further adoooo.  The floors are still amazing, I have no idea how??  The inner rocker was pretty decent, but not good enough to be a keeper.

Hmmm.... SWR and what looks like a caramel drink panel, but the bay middle seat?!?!??

May have had belly pans, no line of rust from the sand dune that usually accumulates in them but more primer on the frame rails with no overspray and the bottom edge looks like it's been messed with.

Pre 60 sunroof deluxe or DD?

Bravo!  It's A belly pan deluxe.  If you check a little closer to one of the interior pics, you might even be able to narrow down the year!  If you want another hint, let me know.
Edit: I missed your comments inside the post!  The bay middle seat is the red herring :)  The bulkhead panel isn't carmel though.  SWR is correct (oh so close!!)  You_Rock_Emoticon

First day of welding done! Outriggers and a patch up front.  The previous owner savaged the front for some reason.   lol_hitting  One day of really filthy dirty work (cleaning metal), followed by clean welding work.

For the outside, visible, areas, I used factory like spot welds (slightly larger).  For the insides (not visible), I used stitch welding for increased strength and so less muck gets inside, and also for the tophats to outriggers I will stitch weld.  This sometimes leads to globs hanging down, but they can be removed with a bit o grinding.

Hey
Good score
Congrats on smuggling it out of Alberta without paying the Alberta Bus Removal tax! ;D
I have a correct non recess front cargo door for that bus if you like. Might even have a correct handle too??
That animal really desrves to have the correct "stuff" on it.
I'm in cowgary, but I'm sure we can commandeer someone heading west that can deliver sometime over the winter.
Geoff grudgingly agreed that you were "OK", so we can do a bro deal on the door. ;)
I'm always up for early bus stuff to trade too. ( Hmmm - got a K3235 lens?)
Let me know if you're interested

Ooops!!  I totally forgot about updating this thread, sorry everyone!  I posted it on the samba as I needed some questions answered and it's easier to beg for stuff there (haha, seriously though, good luck finding a chrome hardboard deluxe visor!).

Riff raff; hey!  Thank you, check your pms!  I was going to hack the front cargo door!  (Fill'er in, but I haven't had the heart to do that...).
