oakland and san jose both have bugformance franchises, and santa cruz has got the volks cafe. bugformance could possibly do repairs ya need, while volks cafe's got everything ya need in terms of parts, and for cheap. scotty at volks cafe helped me out big time...

In Sacramento, go with Bugformance (map link (http://www.google.com/local?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=bugformance&near=Sacramento,+CA&radius=0.0&latlng=38581666,-121493333,38610803,-121430001&oi=locald)).  They have the biggest selection in Sacto.  Great guys.  Shop also.  Check them at Bug-o-rama, Sacramento over Memorial Day weekend.

i already got into a flame war at the cal-look forums over this, but i still think it's worth mentioning...

i know sac bugformance is really good to locals, but i had *serious* problems with those guys when i was in the area. maybe they've changed their policies about out-of-towners who are in a bind, but they left me totally high and dry. i'm sure they've got all sorts of wonderful toys and, indeed, they host a great show. regardless, however, i would never, ever recommend someone i respect who's passing through to try and get into their shop for repairs.

anyway, that's my two cents.
