So many years ago I wanted this car, and I'm just wondering if anyone knows if someone on here bought it, or has seen it.
It's always been my fave bug.. Sort of a see if they want to sell kind of thing.
It was originally in vancouver, bc.

-
yeah, it had suicide doors on it. it was pretty mean, I took a look at it in person when he was selling it, called back a while later and it'd had gone.

I bought that car with a friend named mike hornak back in 1985 , it was already chopped and in primer , plans were to. Drag race it but we never ended up doing anything with it , I can't remember who we sold it to VWShawn might remember , but I did see it for sale on craigslist for under 2000 a couple of years back . It sure was a cool chop .

man look at those prices
-
Wow! Can you see his Visa numbers. Lol. I remember when he was building that thing. He spent a lot of dollars building that car. He also spent many hours trying to figure out why it wasnt performing very well for a 2275. Only to find out that it looked like the engine builder swithched cranks on him when he built it. Found out that it was a lot smaller. Good thing that builder isnt around anymore.
-
He was billed for a 84 stroke but it had a 82... At least when I bought it and pulled it apart.
-
I guess a 84 compared to a 82 wouldnt make that much of a difference. I guess I was mistaken cause I thought it was a 74 or 69. Oops.
-
Yes, I totally remember that car!
Dwayne, remember DRM? That was painted on the doors!
I introduced Paul Jones to Mike Hornak, that was the same summer that
you drove the domestic roadster down to SIR or bust!
Gene Berg signed the trunk of the car, mike probably has pics and maybe the
trunk is in storage.
Paul and VW Specialities built this car, the floor pan came from my 56 beetle, that Greg Hoing used to own.
Frank Graf and Hans Krieger, would remember this car!
Hans, it was at your shop off of Scott Road.
As for the VW Specialties engine builder, I believe his name was Grant.
