i'm putting my new flycut, ported and polished heads on my beetle this thursday. any reccomendations on where to put my cyl head temp sensor? i used to run it off my sparkplug and it was a pain in the ass, and now run it off my #4 exhaust stud, but the temp always stays at 350f no matter what. anyone out there have an idea?

Put it back under the spark plug if you want to know thee real head temps.

well the engine is in the car now, and i put the temp sensor beside the #3 cyl head stud. thanx for the opinions!

Sounds good, just don't expect to be able to compare readings with others who have a spark plug sensor, your's may read low. Either way the bottom line is trend monitoring, a rapid drastic rise from your around town average when pulling a big hill or spanking a watercooled is telling you to back off a little

i watch my oil temp always. i've never cooked a motor in 20 years. the cyl head temp is a novelty my beetle came with
