Are you interested in having a high-energy surf band play at the show, or any others you're organizing?
We play surf-rock in the style of Dick Dale etc (no Beach Boys!). If you think back to the movie Pulp Fiction, the film opens with a surf tune of the style we play.
Here's links to our MySpace and Facebook pages:
http://www.myspace.com/surfuri
http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/group.php?gid=125800438449
We're a duo, with no vocals so we don't even need a PA, or a stage for that matter :)
Perhaps we'll play from the back of my bus guerilla style, even if ya don't book us!
-
We can work something out. I'll contact you

Cheech and I would like to invite everyone back to our place for an after-party Friday night. We have lots of room for parking, and a great spot for a fire right on the banks of the Fraser river. Most people will be heading right past on their way home from the races, so stop in!
Right about here. Google maps is a bit off, we're just on the east side of the bridge.

How about the band "Gob" they are in the studio working on new album maybe a couple of track's......

you can find all the information you require regarding events, times and locations in the first post of this thread!
This is all I see:
Registration takes place from 8am to 11am on show day.
Swap setup opens at 7am and closes when space is filled (on a first come, first-served basis) and is usually full by 10am.
What about for the regular spectator, non-registrant, non-swap-setupper? The times are conspicuously missing from the posters, web-site, etc. Is the start and end time a secret? :D

the show is absolutely free for the regular spectator, non-registrant, non-swap-setupper so you can show up whenever you please!
why dont you just do what you did last year...?
If I would have known I'd have to show up at 8AM to get a stinkin' souvenir shirt, I wouldn't have rolled in at 11AM.
;D
-
Wow...if you spent as much time reading and understanding my question as you did searching through my old posts...
Why does a simple question have to elicit smartass comments? I know its free, I have been to the event several times. All I want to know is start and end times on the Sunday. Even better, is there a schedule of things going on that day so that a person who just wants to drop in for an hour or two can plan accordingly.
-
if your on the prowl for good deals on swap, clearly early is best say around 830 or earlier, some people hide in the bushes the night before. However if your there to see the cars your best to come after 11, this gives time for people to park, setup displays etc etc etc. Trophies are at 3 I think.
As for other activities, there will likely be stuff going on all day, maybe the dvkk could post the schedule...................................... ??

what can i say...i'm a smartass (or a dumbass...as some may put it ;D ;)).
vwchris layed it out pretty well...and you know when to get there if you want a shirt. as far as everything else goes (pie eating contest, spark plug contest, balloon toss, bug stuff, engine blow) i'm sure there is a rough time schedule but as it usually goes...it'll happen when it happens.
all i know is that the people involved do one hell of a job to make this whole event happen every year and they also do their best to make sure everyone (young & old) are well entertained for the weekend and sometimes that means making it up as you go.
hope to see you there!
-
It's just a week away now so if your planing on entering your VW please pre reg as it will speed up entry and help us with class size and awards.

It's looking like the Saturday Boston Pizza event will be huge! Make sure you get there early for a good spot!

Hey Kevin, this is a portable dyno that bolts to the hubs. They have many vw Porsche adapters but may not have the eary vw ones. Just waiting to hear

Bolts to the hubs, interesting, where is this going to go on?

I run the late 4 bolt pattern.

I enjoyed the GCVWS weekend, as always! Nice to get on the track at Mission, this year! Had some trouble with that tree though...I'm used to the sequential yellows coming down, then launching on the third yellow...
