what brand of front seat can I put into my sb ( mazda?, toyota?, ect.) Which one works best?

Any of those seats will work. Howevr it will not be a bolt in dal. You will have to do some fabricating to make them work properly.

I have crx in mine. You need to be creative with the brackets. I chose crx cause they hug you really well and you can crank the wings on the sides tighter or looser.

Why not just keep it in the VW family. If you have a 73 and later super, Golf Mk2 seats can be fitted into it with a little fitting and welding. Once you modify the rear seat legs you can also fit the seat cushions and backs from the Mk3 seats. There are many possibilities.
Some folks just bend the Golf rear legs (which are wider apart than the Beetle legs) to fit. Problem is you need to maintain the relationship between the rear seat legs and the center front mount for the seat to slide properly. This fellow did it right:

Here is the how to of adding the Mk3 seat cushions:

There are advantages to venturing over on the dark side!!
