Title: First Airspeed Cruise of the Year?
Post by: owdlvr on April 18, 2010, 02:34:17 PM
Alright, summer is here and a Cruise is needed!

I think the first Airspeed cruise was at the end of may last year to AVR, organized by Silas. I'm going to suggest you guys choose May 2nd this year, and cruise up to Squamish, to meet the Spring Thaw Classic Car Adventure at the finish. I'm on the 'Thaw, as is Silas, but as soon as I have finishing information I'll post it here.

Alrighty,

The Spring Thaw Classic Car Adventure will cruise into Squamish for about 3:30-4:00pm on Sunday May 2nd. The Town of Squamish has allowed us to take up the parking on either side of Cleveland Avenue down by Pavilion Park.

Google maps link is here: http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=49.695912,-123.155607&num=1&sll=49.701703,-123.158772&sspn=0.05775,0.128059&ie=UTF8&ll=49.695673,-123.155258&spn=0.004358,0.011362&z=17 (http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=49.695912,-123.155607&num=1&sll=49.701703,-123.158772&sspn=0.05775,0.128059&ie=UTF8&ll=49.695673,-123.155258&spn=0.004358,0.011362&z=17)

If you guys would park south of Vancouver Street that would be great. I'd suggest parking outside the Howe Sound Brew Pub...where, incidentally, I'll be heading after our Awards :)

According to the weather network it is looking a little dodgy for sunday - if it is raining no go for me, but if the weather looks promising I suggest meeting at Park and Tilford Gardens (starbucks) around 1. Shooting for a 1:30 depart. Run across the shore to west van then up on the highway.

the weather is looking iffy...but we know that could change in a heartbeat so dont let it deter you!!

lori & i are heading out around 1030-ish. we're going to grab lunch in squamish, do some sight seeing and enjoy some of that fresh mountain air until the cars start pulling in.

hopefully we'll see some of you up there!!
