Hi, are you mobile? I have a 64 Single Cab, that Has been converted to IRS. I have a new tranny, that needs to be put in, and I dont have the time. I want the good trans axle, taken out of a 1970 bug, put in the SC.

The bad trans, and the motor, need to be taken out of the SC.

PS. I am in South Surrey.

Best regards, Jeff Sanderson. PH # (604)536-8620.   Cell# 778-866-4630.

cant decide to go FI or carb on this one. any way we could talk on the phone about it all? im perched ready to do the work, but hate to hang the dirty laundry of my lack of competence on type 3's on the board.....javascript:void(0);  but basically i have  a fresh block that i need to set up with the etc's on the one in my car. generator, dist, starter, etc etc etc,and get it aircared in 2 weeks or so.i have time this week as well, and a carport to work in.  , but i do need to get one or 2 things to complete from cip, (10% off right now!!!YAY!!!)  let me know what you think of fi vs carbs, i have both ready  thanks again, Grant

I have a 74 Beetle (non-super) and the main fuel line from the tank to the motor is plugged from sitting. How much to rectify the situation? New line? Cleaned? etc... I'm Abbotsford.

Its just a matter of running a new line. The parts are very cheap but it would cost a bit in labour. I could have it done in one day but i can only give an approximate price

Ballpark depending how much of a bitch the old one is to take out I would say I would be a full days work 7-8 hrs @40/hr
Title: Re: VW Mechanic for hire
Post by: Bruce on November 30, 2010, 01:29:24 PM
You don't need to take the old one out.  Just cut the ends off where it comes out of the tunnel, then put a new one in.

Thats true i could do that.
