hey , saw this post on thesamba about lowering , my question is that will it work on a 68 and up bug(non-super)? any help appreciated  :noob:

also , ive heard theres a way you can lower a bug by doing something with your torsion bars , any info on this or on any other "DIY" lowering jobs

Do not lower your car by pulling leaf springs!!!!!! It will ride like crap, only weld in adjusters or install lowered spindles or add both.

if you only want slight lowering i would put in some drop spindles, but if you want to be really low I would go for and adjustable beam and drop spindels,. With only an adjustable beam you car will have a rough ride.  Well mine does but I have mine on the lowest setting.

other low cost lowering alternatives include letting the front end seize up by never greasing it, or filling the trunk with boulders
