Post by: beetlemandan on March 30, 2010, 06:58:10 PM
i'm trying to get my furnace working in my 69 beetle. got a new glow plug, (it even works) and fuel pressure, but its not igniting. the glow plug isn't getting a full 12v, is this normal? what gives? anyone got some advice? ???

The glow plug never gets 12V.  It's operating voltage is 4V.

Handy post, but not really useful for pre 72 heaters, the fuel system is completely different.

Any gas coming out of the nozzle Madman?

i know that there is fuel pressure, cause the fuel line started to spray raw gas. is there an injector/spray nozzle i should look for?

Not a spray nozzle, more like a dripper, but the screen and jets in it can fill up with crap.

From page 3 of the thread Tiki posted:
