anyone know how to convert old small nut reduction box brakes to 5 bolt bug brakes im missing the original backing plates so thought it would be better to swap to somthing newer

can not be done .keep looking for some backing plates .   Thanks Ace

Check with steveo_32.  I know he has some RGB trans.
