2332, IDA's, CB2289 cam, 140gph electric fuel pump, 46 x 38 heads and look at my emissions......hehehe. Its all about tuning. Called a 30mm stock carb hehehe

My guess is your 2332 fell out on the way to aircare and somehow a single port fell into your car :D

What was causing your motor to run so poopy? I remember you saying that it stumbled a lot, would not rev up, on Sunday morning.

Just goes to show how emissions testing is a money grab. Thank God Alberta's rich and we don't have that here (yet, knock on wood!).

i dont know what happened it was running real bad when the engine had load and then it suddenly cleaned up. I must have been the rust forming while it sat for 3 yrs . That Superstore presidents choice 15W40 must have been the special elixer :huh: :lol:
5% CO before the 4 gas analyser told me to tweek. Funny thing is that it still would of passed even in that crappy tune state.

its 1500cc single port I think or maybe 1600. 009 dist w/ 3yr old corroded points (dwell adjustments?? whats that hehehe) and no charging system cause i didn't feel like clearancing my alternator to clear the stock carb. The Generator was an excellent idler pulley :P (extra battery in the back), 5 gallon jerry can behind the seat filled with 94 octane and the fuel hose running from backs seat via the heater channel to the mechanical fuel pump.

buy insurance for 2 years.
not a bad plan ,maybe you can rent that motor for $25.00 a day

I was always under the impression the higher the octane fuel, the more emissions?? am I wrong, or was there a particular reason you were running 94 octane??

Hmmm good idea Jim. Well actually I can buy 6-7 months this year (in my case April-Oct) then before the aircare expiry date next year I get another 6mths (April-Oct) . So actually 12mths payment for 2yrs. Your

Matt, higher octane is not as volatile as lower octane. 94 is harder to burn. I simply bought 94 just because..... Emissions is all about how it burns. If pre-igniton occurs which means detonation will typically follow would effect the emission output. Higher octane will reduce the chances for pre-ignition so thats why I just bought 94 octane. You never know if the carbon crap in our older engines will pre ignite the cheaper lower octane fuel. So by saying this the higher octane will be more precise in burning fuel when its suppose to.
Higher octane WILL NOT increase emission output. If anything it'll have the same readings as cheaper lower octane (if no pre-ignition occurs)
The problem with AirCare testing is that the stroker engines with larger duration cams will usually have a 2.5\" exhaust/muffler. The probe goes in our muffler and the negative reversion from when the exhaust valve closes creates a negative pressure that sucks air into the muffler. Aircares probe will see a \"Sample of dilution\" which creates a problem. So Aircare thinks you have a massive exhaust leak. I tested my 2332 with CB2289 cam with a 4 gas analyser and the C02 readings were very low (bad) and the 02 content was very high because of the negative reversion caused by the cam. On the other hand a few years ago my 2110 with Engle 125 and 44 IDF's passed since the duration of the cam is smaller meaning less reversion.
On stock engines you almost NEVER have worry about the dyno test. The idle test is the only concern. The only real method of adjusting dual carbs with a 4 or 5 gas analyser is to remove your muffler and test the individual exhaust ports with a probe at the collector. Works like a HOT DAMN but wear earplugs. Or its a matter of tweaking 4 mixture screws for a long time.

Congrats man! I mucked with my 1600DP with Dual 40 Kads for about a week and failed air care 3 times! then motored over to Ed at the bug shop, he threw it on the anyliser and waved his magic wrench and in 30 minutes I was thru air care with a wicked good pass. :rockon:
