Title: Stupid People: Why I hate selling cars
Post by: HeliMike on March 09, 2010, 10:45:25 PM
Okay I'm gonna rant here of why I absolutely HATE selling cars.
I get a call from some no-mind barely-english speaking jackass last week who saw my add on samba selling my 67 beetle. I tell him on the phone what's wrong with it, the add says what's wrong with it etc. I was quite open and honest about all the little details, but at the end of the day I'm still selling a very respectable, running, well equipped and upgraded, accident and rust-free 1967 Sunroof Beetle. No it's not original, no it's not a show car, and it's not 100%. Anyways, I'm way the hell up in Dawson Creek so my little brother's taking care of the car for me. After taking time out of his day to show said ass-clown the car, ass-clown goes to see the car and proceeds to pick it apart and tell my brother what he thinks is wrong with it. As I told said ass-clown on the phone prior to looking at it, my bro knows NOTHING about the car - PERIOD. So knowing that basically proceeds to tell my brother what a piece of shit the car is and the body is buckled (which it totally isn't - the lower drivers door hinge is broken on the a-pillar)  and leaves. Now I've been bangin' wrenches since I was 15, been into VW's since I was 19, and was a bodyman for a few years in my early 20's as well as working for the Bug Shop off and on for the last 4-5 years. I think I sort of have a clue what's happening and what I'm looking at is what I'm saying - ass-clown guy, not so much.

What the hell do you possible expect from a 44 year old classic car you idiot? It's not gonna be perfect!!!

If you get some stupid barely-english speaking idiot calling you to look at your car, tell him to pound sand as he has no clue what he's looking at....
Rant over.
I can go to sleep now

Try to sell a motorhome, the absolute worst. The same clowns kept coming to look at it until my bro loses it on them. Each showing would take about four hours while they would check out the generator, awning etc....
Some people have no idea about as is where is.

I was selling my wifes 2000 Chevy cavalier two years ago. Car was in good shape and mechanicly perfect. I was asking $4000 OBO. Guy comes to my house, doesnt speak a lot of english (at least to me) but seemed like a realy nice guy. We agreed on a price of $3800 and shook hands. His ride left him at my house as they had tickets to a hockey game. I agreed to drive him to his insurance place in Abby and he would drive me back after deal was done. I live in Aldergrove so it wasnt a big deal. On the drive to his bank he tells me that he is knocking off another $100 because he didnt think the interior was clean enough and he wanted it detailed! I was shocked! The interior had a couple of stains in the back (I have two small kids, milk and juice rearly stays in the sippy cups long) but you could hardly see them as it had a dark grey interior. I told him no and he was upset but didnt say any thing. We went from his bank to his insurance place and started filling out the paperwork. I then asked for my money before I signed the transfer paper. He pulls out a wad of cash a rolls off $2000. A ask wheres the rest. He has now decided the car is only worth $2000. I lose it, tear up the transfer paper and tell him what I think of him and walk out the door and get in the car. He comes running out and says he will pay the agreed $3800. If I already hadnt bought another car for my wife and needed to move the car quickly I would had told him where to go. So we went back in andf he gave me the cash and we finished the deal. He than tells me he has to go and his nephew was coming to pick me up and drive me home! A sat there waiting and the dude showed up in ten minutes and drove me home. He appoligized to me for his uncle. Says he is a bit of a tool. Yeah no doubt. Couldnt beleive the nerve of this guy. I hate selling cars as well.

Im trying to sell a 2003 Jetta. Its parked at my friends house with a for-sale sign and i dont have it listed currently anywhere else, which will change.

Anyways, so the only way to get my phone number is to walk up to the car and write it down from 1 of the 2 forsale signs on the car.

So howcome i get retards calling me and asking me if its 5-speed or automatic, and when i tell them its 5-speed they say thanks but im looking for an automatic.

WHY THE FUCK DIDNT YOU LOOK THROUGH THE WINDOW TO SEE IF IT WAS AN AUTOMATIC BEFORE YOU CALLED ME.

This has happened no less then 5 times, seriously, is it that hard to look throught the window when you are standing right infront of the car and see for your self.

Next im waiting for someone to call me and ask what colour it is.

I actually don't mind selling cars but the stupidity is super annoying.
