Title: 944 brakes
Post by: Jeremy on February 24, 2010, 08:22:45 AM
I found a guy selling 944 front/back brakes. Non turbo, 1986. Are these the ones that can be adapted to fit A/C vw's?

Indeed they can!

Lanner at VDub Engineering is the guy you need to talk to. He's based out of Ontario, and machines adapters to mount the brakes.

http://www.vdubengineering.com/products/porscheconversions.htm (http://www.vdubengineering.com/products/porscheconversions.htm) Has all the porsche conversion information you'll need, plus his part numbers.

More information can probably be found over at www.germanlook.net (http://www.germanlook.net), but after a quick search I was finding it challenging. German look guys swap out the rear IRS arms for 944 units...so most 944 searches end up with rear suspension threads.

Thanks Dave. That helps. The guys asking $100 for fronts and backs. Seems fair. Any personal experience with these parts out there?

No personal experience with his stuff, but he is very highly regarded on the German Look Forums...everyone seems to speak highly of him and his products.

I'd want to confirm that his aluminum stuff is anodized after machining, but other then that I wouldn't have any concerns.
