Title: Ahhhh the first day of real cold
Post by: steveo_32 on December 08, 2009, 08:25:10 AM
Choices that were bad,
Last night, It did not seem soooo cold, So I did not plug in my ceramic heater.......bad call.

This morning, get up a little late so even if I wanted too, did not have a chance to warm the cab up a bit.....bad call.

Followed by my lack of putting a couple of heater exchangers in last week, Because a wanted to hook up my fog lights instead.......bad call.

Spent all yesterday hooking up windshield washer pump and finishing fog light harness....bad call
(learning lesson of the day, dont put as much psi as you can into a wiper system built on hoses that are from 1969....psssssss BOOM)
(did work well for like 2 min)
Woke up, into bus(Fricken cold) Go to start, wore my huge steeltoes chompers today, door locks are stuck, Barely turns over, Stupid webber conversion is a piece of shit in the cold, Worse than a 34 pict icing up. My big as boots can barley keep up to the webber prayer system of  pump, pump, pump, floor, pump, floor, pump, pump, followed by 2.5 seconds of waiting before starting again.....
battery starts to run down........Rhuuuu, rhuuu, rhu.........Vroom......die, Rhuu, rhu, r.......Vroom..............

thru it all I love my bus, There is something magical about a vw in the cold as fricken horrible as they can be when their owners are very bad at winterizing their buses.

Merry fricken cold Ho Ho to all.
Cheers

Hey Steve, look on the bright side.  You only had to scrape the inside of the windshield a couple of times on your short commute to Lordco!  And the gas pedal wasn't frozen to the floor!
