My black 54 was stolen last night between 12am and 7am, please call the cops if you see it. It was taken from Boundary and Grandview area in east Van

Any leads would be appreciated!!

You can not do that without being notice unless you use an enclosed trailer. so anyone who see that beauty around would remember when and where.

Yes Lanny, it was a running car..
This morning (7:30) I looked out and around the new Canadian tire and Boston Pizza area, hoping that they rolled it down the hills in my neighborhood to try and start it, but failed and left it. But didn't notice anything suspicious.
Hopefully the cops are keeping a look out for it...

I emailed all my buddies to keep eyes out also. The vw scene in this area took a big loss on this one, and really proves even in the vw scene you really cant trust anyone these days. First thing I did when we spoke earlier was cover the windows in my garage.

Hopefully the shit ass scum bag is reading this forum and have second thoughts on what they did!

Talk to the staff, maybe the young kids working there spotted it driving by. Look at video that might have a street view from those places. There's never alot of vintage bugs out on the road . I have called the police again and asked them about the border and cars crossing, If they changed the plates and registration, the guards would have to recognize the car by what it looks like.. This is tough.. I cant even get our own local police to use pictures of the car, they only use plates and vin numbers.. :-\ So I'm not sure what else we can do

Wow. So all one needs to do when one steals a car is to switch plates in an intelligent manner and one is safe? That's comforting. >:( We need lojack stuff!

Hopefully they are stupid enough to drive it around. Almost all RCMP cars are now equiped with a lic plate recognition camera so it wouldnt take long for them to spot it, if it has the plates on it still.
I have a 1963 B.C. plate on the front of my car and they pulled me over twice this summer with their new software thinking I had no insurance.

Bought a Type-1 shifter assembly off him a few weeks ago. Gave me no reason to suspect anything, and he went out of his way to help me out even though he had Swine Flu. I wouldn't go after him with pitchforks just yet!

His ad has also been on Craigslist, updated, for weeks.

YMMV, I simply know him as the guy I called to ask "do you have a shifter assembly to sell".

It's good to look to other countries for the car. From Geoff's and Bruce M's experience, shipping a stolen car is so easy. There are no checks in the system.

I've shipped a few Vans to Europe and they dont ask for ID or insurance? very strange.
