im building a 2387cc stroker and im hesitating on witch rods to put in, the 5.5 or 5.7 race rods w/chevy journals
the engine will be used for 1/4 mile racing

VW not Chevy.
CIP has these:
C18-1254 - VW JOURNAL 5.4 INCH CHROMOLY FORGED I-BEAM CON-RODS W/180,000 PSI BOLTS - BEETLE STYLE PERFORMANCE ENGINE - SET OF 4

I would stick with 5.5 as the longest rod, I run 5.5 in a few of my motors and have a few spare sets (new) if you need some chev bearing
-
what sizes are your engines?
-
Mine are 84 stroke, your 86 will work good with either rod. I'm sure Cam will chime in here with what he runs on his 86. If you need 5.7 I may have those as well.

well i have a set of 5.5 but i heard that 5.7 was better

My motor is running 88 stroke and 5.7 rods. IIRC, the motor is 1.1 inches wider than stock. You can save yourself a lot of headaches, by sticking with the 5.5 rods. There will be no difference in power.
