VW not Chevy.

CIP has these:

  C18-1254 - VW JOURNAL 5.4 INCH CHROMOLY FORGED I-BEAM CON-RODS W/180,000 PSI BOLTS - BEETLE STYLE PERFORMANCE ENGINE - SET OF 4

I would stick with 5.5 as the longest rod, I run 5.5 in a few of my motors and have a few spare sets (new) if you need some chev bearing

Mine are 84 stroke, your 86 will work good with either rod. I'm sure Cam will chime in here with what he runs on his 86. If you need 5.7 I may have those as well.

My motor is running 88 stroke and 5.7 rods. IIRC, the motor is 1.1 inches wider than stock. You can save yourself a lot of headaches, by sticking with the 5.5 rods. There will be no difference in power.
