So I'm just about to put the pan together for the last time but my trans mounts have been bothering me a little bit. I want to run soft mounts to cut down on noise but with a syncro trans in a non-syncro pan this requires an adapter. Does anyone make a soft nose cone mount for this application. Can I run the soft mounts on the bell housing and my intermediate mount and the solid mount on the nose cone. Seems like it would put stress on the nose cone if the rest of the mounts are flexible. Heres the nose cone mount I have.

Yes, VW did.
Throw away that steel bracket you have. It is a waste of time for a street car.
Get a 61-67 Bus transmission front nose cone and Bus hockey stick. Put them on your synchro trans, then bolt it all up to the stock rubber front mount.

Thanks Bruce, Is that a bit a procedure to replace those parts or can someone pretty handy handle that?

Anyone with half a brain could do it.

Bruce, Will the nose cone and hockey stick off my '59 single cab work? I am planning to replace the reduction gear in it with a straight axle trans anyway.
