tom hansen (sp?) in seattle with the split drag car answered quite a few questions for me when I was looking at that route. he has some pics and info on his site but do you think I could remember what it's called ::)

thanks for the info on the 002/091 stuff. I will be going with CV's as well. just so I get this right, what I need for a core is an early 002 case with screw type diff adjusters.....what year or code do you know?

an after market 4.57 r&p, lanD intermediate housing, and berg mounts
I took a look at your site again and now I have more questions ............
1 so when you moved the trans back to center did you also move it forward?
Yes, 5/16" (?), the thickness of the piece I got from Berg. The trans is not centered, the motor is.
2 the notch in the torsion housing, is that from a previous 5 spd? do you need to do that for T2?
It was for my old t1 5 speed. No
3 did you also move the trans forward?

4 did you have to modify the sheet metal above the nose cone?
Not on my 51
5 did you raise it at all? or is that even an issue with CV's?
No, the engine is raised slightly due to the bus box mounts and the cv clearance to the forks, not an issue on an IRS pan
6 what are you running for cv's and axels?
T2 with trick cages, and SAW axles
6 do you have a contact # for terry?
No but I'm sure somebody on Airspeed does

I also have a 091 4 gear diff with steel cover and new carrier bearings (with adjusting cups) in my swap meet box, ready for ring gear and drop it in.

Interesting. Maybe that 73 bus trans I got from Geoff may find a new home in my 73 Standard.

Jim, I did a swing to IRS conversion in my '59. Not a bus box though. Shoot me any questions you have or you could come take a look as the body is of the pan right now.
