Anyone had a fuel oil tank dug up and removed from their yard? I have to get one removed before I can get my homeowners insurance renewed.It is fricken spendy for sure so I would like to have someone reputable come out.

my co-worker rented a mini-excavator from a rentel center, then tossed it in the back of his truck and sold it for scrap to the local crusher. cost him the rental and a days effort. so he told me....

Yeah, I thought about that ,but the insurance company needs proof it was done properly, and that means permit$. I don't want to be sued when I sell this house in a couple of years.

you do soil samples and if it leaked over the years, you have to dig till its clean and dispose of dirt in your closest salmon spawning river :o ;D

that sucks. You insurance company will have a list of trusted oil tank remediation experts.
I hope its not leaking then the cost can go way up.

Well after 4hrs of exploratory digging,I found the tank 3 ft down 90 degrees off where I was told it might be.Now to get it out :'(
